RDM Node
4-port eDMX converter
Visual Production’s eDMX node, the RdmNode is a 4-port node designed to seamlessly convert Art-Net and sACN into DMX-512 and vice versa. Its compact DIN Rail form factor makes it an excellent choice for system integration and architectural lighting projects.
This versatile device offers an intuitive drag-and-drop web interface, simplifying the configuration of data routing, merging processes, and port settings. With just a click, you can access presets for the most common data conversions, saving valuable time and effort.
The RdmNode offers three different merging strategies:
- Latest Takes Precedence: Outputs one of the LTP inputs based on which port had the most recent change. This can be a change in channel levels or a DMX signal becoming active.
- Highest Takes Precedence: Each DMX channel is compared across the inputs and the highest value is forwarded to the output.
- If a DMX signal is present on the Priority input then this input is forwarded directly to the output. In this case all other inputs are ignored. Use the Priority input to connect your main DMX controller. Should it fail, the DmxMerger will instantly switch to a secondary DMX controller connector to one of the other input ports.
When paired with the Visual Productions CueCore3 control system, the RdmNode unlocks 4 additional universes of control, making it an essential component to your lighting toolkit.
As a cutting-edge component of your DMX infrastructure, the RdmNode is prepared to handle bi-directional fixture data using the RDM over Art-Net protocol. A pending firmware upgrade will activate this functionality, ensuring your system stays ahead of the curve.
